Clearwater Revival 2003

I got my ramblin' clothes on and journeyed out west to the middle of Puget Sound and my good friends Sharon and Michael. The view from their house on Orcas Island is as awesome as the clean air and community vibe there.  They had a playing gig on the pier at Deer Harbor on Thursday night the 3rd and I had the pleasure of joining them, guitar, et. al.  It was very tempting not to leave.

However, Ron Fussell came down from Vancouver for the gig in order to take me back with him to VanBC that night.  Takako would be getting off a train in Vancouver at 7:50 the next morning, the end of her 3 week cross continent trek, and I was going to be on the platform waiting for her.  Ron and I didn't get to his house until 4am, but there we were greeting Takako and her friend Margaret right on time.   Ron then showed us all as much of Vancouver as four people could see in two days. Thanks, Ron. You are a gracious and generous host and made this wonderful trip possible.  Vancouver is a sweet city and I will be back some day.

Ron and I rode back to Seattle on Sunday the 6th and I caught a red-eye back to NYC that night.  The photos below capture much of the journey.  The spirit of friendship and adventure is what I will remember most.

What a sweet time!  Good friends and real adventure and connections all working out as planned.

Everything flowed smoothly. I am grateful for having great friends and for being part of their lives.
